I am a 80-year-old Grandfather who lives on a farm in Central Texas with two of my sons and grandchildren.
The farm is called Crescent Hill Farm and indeed is at the top of a hill in Central Texas not far from Austin Texas. All of us have lived here for the past 15 years. Years back we decided that city living was OK, but what we wanted was a place where we could grow much of our own food and have animals like cats, dogs, chickens, and a horse or two and make sure our children and grandchildren had a connection to this wonderful blue planet. So for the past 15 years, that is what we have done.
So what is the title of this first post all about? Our little farm is actually the part of the universe we wanted and it was a family thing. Our little universe then is our connection to the earth, sky, plants, animals our children, and each other. The nice thing about living here is that many of our neighbors feel the same way so we share a common connection.
So what are my blogs and posts going to be all about? While I am sure that will be worked out as I progress, I am sure it will be a sharing of life here on our little farm. It will be about our animals, our garden, my greenhouse, and my favorite cat. We will in essence share our universe with those who are interested. As time progresses you will learn about Gram-paw Dennis and the many things I did to remake myself with changing times.
The whole universe was made just for you, so don’t let anyone take that away from you. Don’t let anyone take your happiness away. The world is being torn apart, but you don’t have to be a part of that. You have such value and the world at times wants to steal it from you. They want your life and spirit and your very soul. but that belongs to you.
I am writing this the day before Thanksgiving. Tomorrow there will be 16 people in my home and some I have never met, but they will bless my home with their presence. Be thankful tomorrow for all the humans on this planet that bless our home (this planet) with their presence.
There is not one human that does not have worth. Some see and know that, and many are lost.
Your job and mine is to care for the lost not curse them. They are not the enemy but the evil that possesses them. They live in the dark and you are children of the light. Never lose sight of that and it will carry you to places you never thought you could go.
